Anne Slanders

As a seasoned traveler, columnist, and confidante, I’ve encountered my share of lunatics and lampooners. But nothing prepared me for what my staff discovered from the latest submissions to Connect to Anne. It was beyond the pale.

My staff showed me an online blog that made me gasp in disbelief. It was a blog dedicated to mocking and maligning other people based on their comments in various online chat forums.

My initial thoughts were: “Does this person participate in these chat rooms? Why don’t they just confront the people directly and be done with the discord?”

However, upon scrutinizing blog after blog, my team remained frustratingly distant from unraveling the enigma. Then truth emerged with stark clarity: the blogger was nothing more than a cowardly nitpicker and squabbler, perpetually annexed from participating in a normalized fashion; in much the same way Lilith was cast for her unruliness. Her kingdom was that of exile; her words nothing more than tears of discontent. She yearns for acceptance and when she doesn’t get it, she cowers to her diary seeking significance from her measly followers.

I turned to Taylor, my senior assistant, and asked how long this had been going on. “As far as we can tell since 2013. And it’s not limited to one chat room or platform. This person targets people across multiple sites. She started with AOL chatters and now hurtles insults on others from another chat site. They call themselves the Monkey Crew.”

So far, my staff has unearthed a wealth of data about this blogger and her clique of snarky followers. I’m grateful to our readers who wrote in and exposed this deviousness.

Some of our new contributors to Anne Slanders provided quite stark details about those who I will kindly refer to as The Shameless.
